What is a portfolio?

An art portfolio is a curated collection of an individual's best and most representative artworks, showcasing their unique style, skills, creativity, and artistic evolution

What not to include

• Master Copies
• Fan Art
• Speed Painting (time lapses)
• Screen Plays/Scripts
• Art Assignments
• Architecture
• Cliche Photography
• Works with obvious ties to reference photos you did not take yourself (e.i. Pinterest or stock photos)

Tips and Tricks

• Start Early!
• Go to Portfolio Reviews
• Pre College programs and classes at SAIC outside of school are a great way to gain pieces
• Colleges are looking for variety. Push yourself out of your comfort zone!
